Laker with blue background by Mary Prittie

Mary Prittie’s hometown of Port Colborne gave her direct access to the working maritime life of the Great Lakes and the Welland Canal. This original mixed media work depicts a giant laker in the foreground, with a beautful blue theme. The subject connects the painting to Port Colborne’s shipping history, Lake Erie, and Southern Ontario’s industrial waterfront. This particular blue is a rare colour used by Mary.
